The Shorewood Hills Law Enforcement Association (SHLEA) is the charitable arm of the Shorewood Hills Police Department. Established in 2001 by members of the SHPD, SHLEA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting both our officers and the community we serve.
Donations to SHLEA help us give back through volunteer efforts and support for charities such as Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald House, Shop with a Cop, and more. Your contributions also help fund critical equipment, officer safety supplies, and emerging technologies—especially items not covered in the department’s regular budget.
Thank you for supporting public safety and helping us continue our mission of service to the community.
Donations to support our community programs and initiatives are always appreciated. If you would like to contribute, donations can be dropped off in person at the Police Department or sent electronically via Venmo. Donations can be made to our general SHELA fund or marked for specific purposes.

Our official Shorewood Hills Police Department challenge coin is a symbol of pride, service, and support for our department. These high-quality coins honor the tradition of law enforcement and make a great keepsake or gift. Each coin is $15, with all proceeds directly supporting SHLEA’s community programs, officer safety initiatives, and charitable efforts. If you would like to purchase a Challenge Coin, you can contact us by email.
SHLEA has proudly contributed to several meaningful causes that support the broader law enforcement community. Over the past year, donations have been made to Dane County area K9 units, officer memorial funds, medical expense assistance, and retirement gifts for those who have served with honor.
These contributions reflect our commitment to the well-being, recognition, and legacy of those who protect and serve—both human and K9.
In January 2025, SHELA approved the allocation of funds for the purchase of an Autel Robotics EVO II Dual 640T drone. This advanced drone will be deployed in a variety of critical law enforcement operations, including search and rescue missions, criminal apprehension, and high-risk situations. Equipped with a high-resolution visual camera and thermal imaging capabilities, the drone also features a 360-degree obstacle avoidance system, a versatile attachment platform for specialized law enforcement tools, and a flight time of up to 35 minutes. This acquisition enhances our operational capabilities and supports the safety and effectiveness of our personnel in the field.
In 2024, the SHLEA approved the allocation of funds to design and purchase new badges for our department. These new badges replaced the standard-issue design we had worn for many years and mark a significant step forward in representing our department’s identity.
The design was a collaborative effort, with input from all members of the department. We are proud of the result and believe the new badges truly reflect the pride, professionalism, and unity of our team. We're excited to wear them as a symbol of who we are and what we stand for.
In 2023, our speed trailer became inoperable. After receiving numerous requests from residents for a replacement, SHLEA approved the purchase of a TC-400 Portable Radar Speed Sign. This post-mounted sign is significantly more versatile than our previous trailer model.
The mobile radar sign is a valuable tool for promoting safe driving throughout our community. It not only displays vehicle speeds to increase driver awareness, but also collects traffic data to help track speed trends and guide enforcement efforts.
